Hot weather, hot food, hot springs, hot women.
Chongqing–The hottest city in China.*
This is the place to start if you’re planning on visiting or living in Chongqing–or if you’re already a seasoned expat, check your know-how against this guide. Guaranteed to be more informative than what you’ll find in the Lonely Planet. Plus it’s the only online guide about Chongqing that lists English, Chinese and pinyin to get you where you need to go.
Keep In Mind
This is an ongoing personal project (About Me). While I will try my best to include as much detail as possible, it would be impossible for me to claim that this guide is comprehensive. Think of it more as a stepping off point. There are surprises around every corner, so if you have the time to explore you’re bound to find something new and interesting.
In addition, because of the constant development it is possible that some of the information presented in this guide is subject to change. I hope that in this online format it can continue to be updated and remain as accurate as possible. Please leave comments if you notice any of the information needs to be updated! Suggestions are always welcome too.

Hey! This is great! I’ve been living in Chongqing off and on since 1995 and bought an apartment in Beibei a couple of years ago. I’m currently in South Korea teaching and saving money so that I can come back, chill and do some projects that I’ve been wanting to do. If you ever need any help on this site, let me know. I’ve got tons of experience, know the city and its development like the back of my hand, speak the language. Either way, good luck with the site…Chongqing needs this. Or, as they say, “Ye! Leigo wanye haisi KOyee ma!”
Good luck!
Matt

A beautiful, wonderful city with pretty girls and tasty food! It would be perfect if the weather is better here.

Apologies for those in China viewing this site and can’t see the videos. Not sure how long that Youtube block will last.

My family and I went on a big China tour and barely had any time to do our own thing in Chongqing! Next time, I’d love to explore more…
